The Stripschapprijs is the only lifetime achievement award for comic book artists in the Netherlands. It is awarded annually by Het Stripschap, an association of comic book enthusiasts. The award does not include a cash prize. It consists of a certificate and a sculpture.
Once again, for the sake of completeness: The entire process is as follows. The original page is transferred to film. That is the transparent plastic. A blueprint is made of it, and the blueprint is colored in. The film contains the black line art of the comic. The coloring is scanned and converted into three color films: yellow, red, and blue. Together with the black film, the color films are mounted on the printing plate, and then it’s time to print....
