Douwe Dabbert was published in the first issue of the Donald Duck weekly in 1975. There was no major advance announcement. However, a brief note was included in the editorial section of Uncle Donald’s Mailbox in the final issue (#52) of 1974: “...... There’s more on the agenda, but I’m keeping that a secret for now ......"
