1️⃣ It quickly gets expensive

The prices of major purchases can skyrocket overnight (especially following media announcements). 

2️⃣ Storage and condition stress

Bags. Cardboard boxes. Climate control. One dog-eared corner and the value drops. Suddenly, you’re more archivist than reader.

3️⃣ Speculation burnout

Buying books “as an investment” rather than for enjoyment can take the fun out of it. Markets fluctuate. Trends fade. Not every hyped-up title becomes the next holy grail.

4️⃣ Space

Tall boxes are multiplying. Fast. They don’t care how small your room is.
