NZH
The Noord-Zuid-Hollandsche Stoomtramweg-Maatschappij (NZHSTM), later Noord-Zuid-Hollandse Vervoer-Maatschappij (NZHVM), was a former public transport company founded in Hillegom on June 2, 1880. The company changed its name several times and was eventually merged into Connexxion in 1999. As a direct continuation of NZH, Connexxion celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2006. It transported passengers by tram and bus. For a brief history of the NZH tram, see Blue Tram. The NZHVM's head office was located on the Leidsevaart in Haarlem. Connexxion left this location in 2006 for new premises in the Waarderpolder.
In the 1980s, Douwe Dabbert, like a number of other comic strip characters, appeared in an advertising campaign for the NZH transport company. See below.
